IMPORTANT UPDATE:
Due to the COVID-19 Outbreak we have suspended Produce to People which is normally held at the Fayette County Fair Grounds until further notice.
We will post updates here and on our facebook page when the monthly distribution at the Fayette County Fair Grounds will resume.

Because of the volume of families we help and the large amount of volunteers needed to organize the event monthly at the fair grounds, we cannot meet CDC guidelines and keep everyone social distanced enough. Further, resources from the food banks are stretched very thin right now.

However, we are holding food distributions at the church at 171 Connellsville Street Uniontown on a regular basis.

The next dates for our food distributions are:

THURSDAY MAY 13th 10am-12pm

THURSDAY MAY 27TH  10am-12pm

The distributions will begin at 10am on Thursday's, until 12pm or when food runs out. We are planning to serve a minimum of 1,100 families each week. Items could include produce, fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, dairy items including milk, cheese and other dairy items and perhaps non-perishable items.

This is a drive-thru distribution, please have your trunk or back seat open/unlocked. Do not get out of your car and follow the directions of the volunteers. Cars line up on Connellsville Street, up Euclid Ave and the distribution takes place in the back parking lot of our church. If you need more information call the office at 724.580.7027 PLEASE DO NOT LINE UP BEFORE 9AM - we have to have room for the trucks and deliveries of food to get in the back of the church each morning. If you arrive before 9am you may be asked to leave by traffic control.

You can support the ministry by mailing to: Fresh Fire Church 171 Connellsville Street Uniontown PA 15401 or giving online at www.freshfirechurch.net/donate

What Is Produce 2 People

Produce to People is a local food distribution sponsored by The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and organized by Fresh Fire Church in Uniontown.  It is held the SECOND THURSDAY OF EACH MONTH at the Fayette County Fair Grounds in Dunbar Township. The program provides supplemental food items to families each month.  Typically families receive about 40-60 pounds of food each month and includes items such as meat, fresh vegetables and fruit, canned items, dairy and much more and varies each month.

What Do I Need To Bring

When you sign up, you will receive a Passcard, which is similar to your Shop' n Save Rewards card  or other department store rewards card.  You will only need to register once and each month following, you will be able to come through the line and only have to have your card swiped by our scanner.  This process is much more efficient and prevents you from waiting in a long line for an extended period of time.  We only need your name, address and phone number to receive the passcard.

Please bring a large box, wheeled cart or laundry basket to put your food in.

When and Where

The distribution is the second Thursday of each month in the Grange building at the Fairgrounds and will begin at 10:00am and last until 12:00pm.  Eligibility for the program is self-declared and is based on residents of your household receiving unemployment compensation, food stamps, cash assistance or medical assistance, those experiencing a crisis situation or those whose household income is at or below 150% of the poverty level. All food is distributed based on a first come first serve basis. To ensure you receive food please arrive no later than 11:30am. Restrooms for recipients will be available to use during the distribution at the fairgrounds.

Typically the program serves over 700 families and over 1,500 individuals monthly.

Local human service agencies are available during the distribution and have included in past months: Dress for Success, Fayette County Community Action Agency, Head Start of Fayette County, Fayette County Assistance Office, Senior Life, UPMC, Highmark Blue Cross Blue
Shield, Cornerstone Care and others.  If your organization may be interested in helping during the distribution or offering a type of free service to the community or for more information please contact the ministry office of Fresh Fire Church Monday through Thursday 9am – 4pm at 724.580.7027 or by emailing us at the link below.
